Here’s what you can expect from your hearing test
1. Lifestyle Evaluation
First, you’ll sit down with an audiologist to discuss your hearing health history and lifestyle. Your audiologist will build up an exact picture of your hearing environment and your everyday life with questions such as: What do you do for a living? Do you like listening to music? Do you like to travel?
2. The Hearing Test
Next, you’ll be given a hearing and/or speech test to assess your hearing in both ears. We’ll perform a physical examination of your ears and test your hearing to find out how well you hear across the sound spectrum. We may also test how well you can hear speech in noise.
Your audiologist will explain the results of the evaluation in detail. If your hearing test indicate a loss, your Audiologist will recommend a hearing aid suited to your hearing loss and needs, based on what he or she has learned about your lifestyle.
3. Free Trial
Next, the hearing aid of your choice is programmed on the computer by your audiologist, to match your personal requirements and your test results. Then you can try hearing with your new device for the first time and take it home for a free trial. Your Audiologist will check in periodically to make sure everything is going smoothly and make any adjustments as necessary.
